Ogden, Utah, April 2007 – Joe Frodsham with Setpoint Systems, Inc., a manufacturing automation firm, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of NUMA, Northern Utah Manufacturing Alliance.
Members of NUMA share manufacturing best practices with each other with the intent to support and improve the competitiveness and profitability of Utah manufacturing firms.
Setpoint is supporting this effort with two representatives on the board of directors. Joe Frodsham, Setpoint’s Director of Marketing and Business Development joins Reid Leland, president of LeanWerks, a Setpoint company. Reid has served on the board for six months.
Setpoint has worked with NUMA since their organization in 2005. Collectively they have been working to solve common and obscure manufacturing challenges, share best practices and train local managers. Working with NUMA, Joe hopes to be able to help improve Northern Utah’s manufacturing capabilities and network. He said, “Doing so will improve the productivity and profitability of Northern Utah manufacturing firms which has a significant impact on the local economy due to the delivery of hard goods and high-paying jobs. Supporting NUMA is good for everyone involved, including our own automation solutions business.” Setpoint’s promise is ‘productivity delivered’. NUMA shares this goal so working with them is a good fit.
According to a recent study1 manufacturing totals 10.6% of all jobs in the state of Utah with an average pay that is second only to the mining industry. NUMA’s aim is to make Northern Utah the place to be for manufacturing companies. Through best practice open houses, Expo’s and regular meetings with members NUMA is working to improve the local economy to continue to attract manufacturers to Utah.
