Esys has partnered with several vision suppliers to create a robot carried vision system that can allow for 100% bead inspection as the bead is being dispensed on a piece of glass in real time. External cell access for tip maintenance and purge bucket access greatly reduce cell downtime.

The use of robotically controlled 7th axis coordinated motion will be required for this material dispense method. The retractable blow-off/purge box easily moves clear for the material dispense cycle.

Added rotary motion of the tip between the integrated blow-off/purge box and the dispense position is necessary. Remotely mounted vision/bead audit is used to confirm proper positioning of dispensed bead. This configuration is feasible when the system doesn’t have the constraint of added cycle time.

For improved cycle time and decking accuracy, a vision system can be integrated into the material handling robot to auto deck glass to the vehicle.  Additional safety features are added for operator protection in the decking area.
